Welcome to our blog! This post and the next two posts will highlight the foundation of organizing from our perspective, and then we’ll share organizing tips and more. So let’s jump right in!
Understanding the different organizing styles helps determine how a person views organizing. This is important because organizing and the different phases of it look different based on the organizing style you identify with most.
Listed below are the most commonly known organizing styles. Take some time to read through them and reflect using the question at the end of this post.
| Organizing Style | Description |
| Minimalist | This person strives to create a lifestyle where everything they own has meaning and purpose. They aren’t so much into collecting things outside of what they feel is needed. |
| Organized | Someone who loves order and structure. There’s no limit to how much they own as long as there’s a home for everything. They may incorporate items, such as labels, organizing bins and containers, and drawer dividers. |
| Hoarder | A person who owns a lot and can continue to buy new things. There is some structure, but the focus is more on having what they want and collecting. There is little to no letting go of items. |
| Organized Mess | To an outsider, everything looks like a mess, but the person with this style knows exactly where everything is when they’re looking for it. There are specific homes for things the person owns but little to no structure throughout the entire space. |
